Ashley Seebaluck

Director & Head of Business

Ashley graduated with a BCom from University of Mumbai and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”).

Ashley started his career in London in tax in a small audit and tax practice, before moving to a top 10 firm in Central London to train as an auditor. Ashley returned to Mauritius in 2012, following a rich career in London spanning over 12 years, and joined a large multinational pharmaceutical company, heading the Accounting, Tax and Treasury Team.

In this role, Ashley led a group of talented professionals driving the business by providing technical support (IFRS, Tax advisory and Hedging strategies), ensuring compliance with tax regulators in various jurisdictions and advising on the trade route set up of the company’s manufacturing and commercial activities to optimize tax. Ashley was also responsible to retain, nurture and develop the next generation of Finance professionals at the company.

Before co-founding Fortree, Ashley was the CFO of a listed cement company in Mauritius.

In his spare time, Ashley is an avid reader, football enthusiast and keen on personal fitness.

Ritchie Ramchurn

Director & Head of Tax

Ritchie is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) & also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation-UK (“CIOT”).

Ritchie has a very long and rich career spanning over 20 years within different industry sectors and in different jurisdictions. After qualifying as an accountant, Ritchie started his career in the early 2000’s with small accountancy practices in London and later joined one of the Big4 accounting firms to specialise in corporate taxation before moving to Switzerland in 2009 to join one of the most established lingerie manufacturers in the world to focus on international taxation.

After two years, Ritchie returned to Mauritius to join an international pharmaceutical company where he primarily focussed on International Taxation, Trade Route, Treasury and Company Secretarial. In 2016, Ritchie returned to the UK where he provided his professional services to a FTSE 100 company (top 100 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange) until late 2018. He then joined the UK subsidiary of a German multinational (ranked among the top 100 companies on Fortune Global 500 list) where he deputised the Head of Tax until March 2021. Since then, Ritchie has been helping Fortree’s clients by recommending practical and commercially driven solutions to their problems by leveraging on his wealth of business and taxation experiences.

Outside work, Ritchie has a keen interest for socialising, reading, travelling and gardening.

Kaviraj Nuckchedee

Director & Head of Captive Insurance

Kaviraj is affiliated with the following organisations:

  • Member of The Mauritius Institute of Directors (“MIOD”)
  • Member of the Insurance Institute of Mauritius (“IIM”)

Prior to joining Fortree, Kaviraj has to his credit more than 19 years of working experience. He acquired more than 3 years of professional experience in auditing in two of the Big Four companies namely Deloitte and Ernst & Young and more than 16 years in the Global Business. He worked for Cim Global Business (now “IQ-EQ”), before joining Rogers Capital Corporate Services Limited in 2011.

 

During his career, Kaviraj acquired experience in managing operations of a panoply of offshore structures ranging from Closed Ended Funds, CIS Manager, Global Business Licence, Authorised Companies and Trusts. He is specialised in one of the sophisticated structures being the Captive Insurance. He is well connected and respected in the world of Insurance with Brokers, Insurers, Reinsurers and other strategic players.

 

He is also proficient at fund raising for medium and large projects mainly across Africa.

 

Kaviraj’s other interests include reading, discovering the world & fan of culinary experiences.

Tina Danhoo-Seebaluck

Company Secretary

Tina is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) & holds a BSC in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

Tina trained in a medium sized audit practice in London, auditing companies in diverse industry segments: real estate, manufacturing, e-commerce, financial services and other trading companies.

After 10 rich years in London, Tina relocated to Mauritius in 2012, and set up an accounting and audit practice, supporting small and medium-sized owner managed businesses. Tina specialises in financial & management, accounting, advisory services and tax compliance for her clients in various industries, including global businesses. She is passionate about solving problems, data analysis to guide decision making and participating in strategic decision and recommendations for her clients, in addition to helping other people in her team to advance in their careers by identifying and leveraging their strengths.

Tina’s other interests include reading, movies and cooking.
